History of The Rottweiler

A German breed that is known for intelligence, herding instincts, loyalty and obedience to it's family. Their creation goes all the way back to the Roman Legion in the middle ages who bought dogs in a small town market of Rottweil to herd the army's cattle. Rotteweilers are a domineering breed and needs an experienced owner and handler.

Rottweiler Fun Facts

• Known as one of the oldest herding dogs in history.
  
• These dogs are were commonly used to protect and drive livestock to market until the middle of the 19th centuary when railroads became widespread and it became faster to ship livestock by train.
  
• Today you will find this working breed used in search and rescue, as a guard dog or as a police dog.
